Eligibility for Participation

Housing units from AFWO are largely available to active and former defense and paramilitary personnel, together with their families. The following groups of military personnel are eligible to apply to take part in the occasional Demand Surveys that AFWO conducts:

1. Active duty and reemployed military personnel
2. Retired Military Personnel
3. Spouse of a fallen military official
4. Blood relatives and dependents of officials in the armed forces, such as parents, spouses, kids, grandchildren, adopted kids, brothers, sisters, and their spouses

The Army, Navy, or Air Force as well as paramilitary groups like the BSF, CISF, CRPF, etc. are included in the definition of “armed forces.”

A few types of federal and state employees are also qualified for AFWO programs.

Demand Survey

Other categories may apply to participate in the Demand Survey if they meet the requirements of the aforementioned applicant categories and, in the event that surplus units remain after the Society’s goals and objectives must be effectively achieved through the allotment of those surplus units, in accordance with the priority specified in the Bye Laws of AFWO.
